The Story

The meaning behind Walyalup's 2025 Indigenous Jumper

Fremantle's jumper has been designed by Jeff Farmer and Jeff Farmer Snr in collaboration with Roger Hayden. The colours in the chevrons (red, green, and white) are call-backs to the first Fremantle jumper Farmer wore, while also representing the Gordon-Frankland, Palinup and Kalgan Rivers which run through Goreng, Meanang and Kaniyang Noongar Country in the Great Southern Region of Western Australia where Jeff grew up. The bottom of the jumper features Lake Matilda, Poorrarecup, Nunijup, and Anderson, surrounded by contour lines reminiscent of the Kaniyang, Meanang, and Goreng countries' landscape.

The back of the jumper features an outline of Bluff Knoll and the silhouettes of Fremantle's 'Indigenous Seven' a then AFL record where Jeff Farmer and six other Fremantle Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander players lined up alongside one another in a single game in 2003. Similar to the 2024 design, the jumper also includes the names of every Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander player to have ever been listed at the Club, paying respects to those past and present.

Made to the same exacting standards as the On Field match kit worn by players, Sekem's replica apparel offers superb fit, cooling and durable fabric, a must-have for every member of the purple army!
